Can Filter Forge run as a plug-in for GIMP [v2.8]? GIMP does not recognize the .8bf filetype. I don't have much experience with this stuff. "Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx |

There is a list somewhere where is put what software is supported as host for filter Forge, but I do not remember where is it. I do not know if Gimp is included in it, but perhaps if you copy the plugin and it does not work probably is not compatible, ALTHOUGH I think that Rod_D said something about a workaround trick to put plugins in Gimp, or maybe I am wrong.

are you sure gimp doesnt accept .8bf's? i used it a long time back and i thought it did, but maybe that was just gimpshop and not gimp. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I think I found the Rod_D information about adding Photoshop plugins to GIMP, you can see it in this link here

Yep, GIMP doesn't natively work with .8bf plugins, but you can use PSPI in GIMP to enable them.
