Hi,
I have a feature request ![]() Actually, I miss the possibility to save a (sort of simple) script which would describe a sequence of filters I wish to apply to my current image. (or if such an option already exists, it seems to be very well hidden, so please tell me where it is ![]() Thank you very much, and keep up the good work: Filter Forge is brilliant! |

This is not possible in the standalone version, but I think that probably could be done in the photoshop plugin version, as you could make an action (like a script) to record the sequence of filters you want to apply to the current image, and then run the action.
Although do not ask me how to do this, because really I do not know and I have not tried it myself, as far as I know this should be possible with photoshop actions, if any one that have made it could explain how this could be done in photoshop. What would be really good and useful and wonderful is that Filter forge could let you stack or mix filter applied to the same image, I mean after you have applied the filter to the image, you could then choose and apply another filter over the same image that have been already modified WITHOUT having to exit from filter forge to apply the filter as in photoshop or in the standalone, it replaces the new filter with the old filter, so it applies the filter to the original image and NOT to the result of the last image already filtered. |

Thank you for your reply
![]() Actually, I was talking about the standalone version (sorry, I forgot to mention). I wish, too, to be able to easily "stack" filters (and -of course- save this sequence/stack of filters for later works). At the moment, I use Filter Forge to search for cool filters, apply one on an image, save the modified image, then immediately open the modified image in FF, and redo this process for the whole sequence of filters I have to apply on the batch of images I work with. This is repetitive and pretty long: it's not a convenient process... ![]() So, guys at the Filter Forge team, please, consider options for 1) applying stacks of filters and 2) saving these stacks in order to re-use them later. Thank you very much, and keep up the good work! FF rocks! ![]() |

I do big batches of images in FF from time to time (animation cells, or big libraries of images.) I make PS actions with the FF filters, and run them in a big batch. Then save the results. Then run the next process on the batch. Then save the results. etc.
IIRC, PS seems to remember the filters used in FF, so I don't see why you couldn't create an action with multiple FF filter calls. I do wish there were more 'hooks' for PS <--> FF interaction in PS actions. For example, automatically hitting the 'randomize' button from a PS action would be helpful. Or, for another example; name a particular preset to be used. |

Another thing i CONSTANTLY find myself wishing for is batch saving of FF outputs. Just save ALL the channels out (Bump, spec, diffuse, etc.) in one go. Let me pick the format. It should just be a command next to save out the images:
>Save Channels >Save Channel Settings.... (where you define size, format, naming conventions etc.) |

Thanks for your reply!
Actually, I find myself using FF more and more in standalone mode: I wish being able to trigger/script a batch of filters directly in FF. Moreover, I would also find convenient an option for batch-saving FF outputs (bump, spec, diffuse, etc...) as you describe it! |

graphic_dude, have you looked at our batch renderer? If yes I must be missing something in your question. Your task seems to be possible with a simple bat/VBS/Powershell script, similar to the following: start /wait FFXCmdRenderer-x86-SSE2.exe batch.xml start /wait FFXCmdRenderer-x86-SSE2.exe batch1.xml start /wait FFXCmdRenderer-x86-SSE2.exe batch2.xml so that Windows waits for the first command to finish before going to the next line in the script. |

Hi GMM,
thank you for your help! I wasn't aware about the batch renderer, so I'll check this out because it will improve my workflow for sure! Please also consider the 2 other feature requests we talked about in this thread : - 1) being able to stack filters in FF's GUI (post #2) - 2) being able to save multiple outputs/channels in FF (post #5) Thank you for your help, and keep up the good work! ![]() |
