I like to make animations with Filter Forge, but it’s painstaking work.
I’d move a slider, save the results, and then assemble the frames with QuickTime Pro.
So I was hoping for the ability to export multiple images, with a timeline controlling the sliders.
They don’t necessarily have to be assembled into a video file, as I can do that myself, but to be able to export more than one image would be handy.

Simple keyframing and batch render!!! Definitely a must and No.1 on my list!

Batch render would rule the tides for me too; a great way to come up with swathes of textures while you sleep, then pick out your favorites in the morning!
I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures

michael, actually, you can do this now with a few programs. but it may not be quite as good as what you want. with something like 'camstudio' or 'camtasia' (i think that's right) you could just have that running and it will save your moves as you go. no need to keep taking screenshots. at least camstudio is used with photoshop and paint shop pro to make video tutorials. you run the program and run your editor and do you work in your editor. every move gets recorded and saved as a video file (i forget which format at the moment). you can then voice over the whole thing or maybe even do a running audio input as you work.

i've got one of those programs (just havent installed it or used it yet). it's open source (free) and i believe can be found on sourceforge.net.

i dont know the limitations, however. so, screen resolution may be an issue and i also dont know if you can auto-crop the thing to just your workspace and not all the GUI toolbars and such. but, might be worth looking into.

oh, and please, dont do it in quicktime or at least allow for other vid types if you do. quicktime and realplayer are SO proprietary and i believe they want to call home incessantly. i had to remove both from my startup in windows.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
