Well I have seen lots of articles on internet, that have reviewed and said that Filter Forge is a very good and awesome software and gives excellent results and have wonderful collection of thousands of useful and interesting filters, BUT there is one thing that they many times say, IT IS SLOW or SLOWISH. http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2009/04/...rives.html
_________________________________________________________________ http://www.obsidiandawn.com/filter-forge We all know that Photoshop is absolutely one of the most powerful tools out there for graphic artists today. They can do just about anything you can imagine, the possibilities are endless.

Yeah, saying they didn't know anyone had any speed issues with FF is like saying they didn't know anyone had cholesterol issues with morbid obesity...
I'm not saying FF is dead slow and can't be used for anything, I'm just saying people have talked about speed issues on the forums for as long as there are forums. On the other hand, I never seemed to be able to render anything in 3D software, because that would mean having my computer on hold for a few days at a time, for a single image. Not talking about actual movies ![]() So speed is a very relative thing. Even on the same computer. |

YES, you are right ![]() ![]()
Is true that in the FF forums there are lots of speed rendering issues and threads about this topic since 2006, and it seems that FF made an optimization speed to the engine from FF 1.0 to 2.0 but then in 3.0 has kept the same render engine, so I am asking for a new optimization for 4.0 I also agree with you, FF is NOT dead slow, and is NOT unusable at all, because this would not be true AND I have put in the thread from the first link above the following:
YES, I agree, and as you can see in the quote above, I say that using the same computer, it is relative to the filter you want to use AND the resolution that you want the result to be, as is NOT at all the same to render a 600 x 600 than a 2400 x 2400 (which is 16 times bigger) |

Perhaps you can think that I have put very few examples and is not showing really much complain of others.
I have to say that I have put ONLY A FEW of the things I have found on internet, and that I have NOT put many others because are from other software competing companies or forum and private places that would not be good to post here. And I have recommended Filter Forge to 3 persons I knew and all 3 told me that for their business it was too slow to use it on simple photos and they need something faster for their workflow and so have choosen other available filter software that are really faster than the filters from Filter Forge. |
