I have seen Filter Forge (FF) advertised in many places and in other websites as
Filter Forge - The Best Photoshop plugin And I think is wrong, from my point of view, I mean that is advertised as if it would be ONLY a photoshop plugin, and so to be able to use FF you would need to have Photoshop and if you do not have you could not use it. For example if you type "Filter Forge" you will see what google shows as FF definition Filter Forge - Photoshop Plugin to Create Your Own Filters ![]() |

Is really FF ONLY a photoshop Plugin ?
Of course that the answer is surely NO, as it is ALSO a standalone application AND is ALSO a plugin for other compatible hosts and NOT only for Photoshop The right and well done definition is put in the Wikipedia Filter Forge
WHY I MADE THIS THREAD I am making this thread to suggest a change in the Marketing of FF as I think that possibly any person that could see a banner advertising Filter Forge or some other way of advertising it will think this same thing that is only posible to use it IF you have Photoshop. What happens with other people that could have other compatible hosts that are not Photoshop and could still use FF as plugin? And considering that now Photoshop is NOT for sell anymore and is ONLY available by subscription as showed here, many people that still do not know FF yet, could miss the oportunity to know more about this awesome software because they may think that is ONLY for photoshop as you can see in the advertising I have found below [/B] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() StevieJ have suggested a change in homepage on this thread and I think that is NOT only on the homepage, is needed to change also everywhere that FF is advertised and in all the marketing of this company. I use most of the time FF as standalone and only a very few times as photoshop plugin |

Sorry, that I still do not understand and do not know why Vladimir and the Filter Forge team want to promote and show FF as mainly a Photoshop plugin and can´t know their reasons to do it, from my point of view this is something wrong and perhaps they may be loosing some possible sales from persons that could try or buy this and do not do it because think is only for photoshop.
Would you click for knowing more information on a link that shows in Google "Photoshop Plugin to Create Your Own Filters" if you do not have Photoshop? HOMEPAGE SHOWS FF AS A PHOTOSHOP ONLY SOFTWARE As StevieJ said in the main FF website homepage at the top you can see A plugin for Adobe Photoshop that allows you to build your own filters. And there is NO information anywhere else in the homepage that FF CAN be used also as a standalone ON THE MAIN FEATURES PAGE OF FF WEBSITE I also do not understand WHY FF Inc. insist on showing FF as JUST a photoshop plugin
This text on the Quote above is the first thing you read on the Features page of FF website so reading this I would believe that JUST means that it ONLY works as a photoshop plugin. ONLY reaching the very end of the long features page is put
Does anybody need to read and view the whole features page to be able to reach nearly the end and discover that is ALSO a standalone application? Why do not put this same text AT THE BEGINNING of the page ? Is there any reason that FF Inc. does not want that people know that this is also a standalone application? ONLY ON DOWNLOAD PAGE APPEARS SOMETHING In the third text that appears at the beginning
And also in buy page buried low in the comparison features table AND WHAT APPEARS IN THE FF WEBSITE MAY BE COPIED TO OTHER WEBSITE PROMOTING OR REVIEWING FILTER FORGE For example in this Yur Digital review
Yes, me too, well I can´t say never, but 95% of the time I use it as standalone, at least until now.
Well, I am not the marketing advisor ![]() |
