Romancing the Gorilla

What happened to Carl's Romancing the Gorilla Filter? That's one of my all time favorite filters!

And why did some of my filters disappear when I upgraded the software?

It is getting redesigned, after I received numerous email complaints about it and including one on FF's FB page. After X-Ray's redesign where it excluded the original look or the drastic changes to Film Noir, I thought it would be better to resubmit a fresh version of Gorrilla where no one can complain that it's lost this or that. The good news the new version will be faster, more user friendly and believe it or not with more choices, and very close to the look of the old one. Hopefully every one will be happy then

Don't delete such awesome filters and leave us in the dark like that again!

Any word on this filter? I'd love to get it.

been distracted by other creative work returning an income Their is a fatal error that can occur under random renderings, that was why after several complaints it was removed from circulation. I would not want the defective gorrilla on the loose, please don't post it.

the good news, the sky isn't falling, a stripped back re-loved gorrilla is under surgery.

How is it going the romancing ? Has the Gorilla got already romanced or there is still work to do?

I am not needing it urgent at all (I already have the original and like it as it is), and does not matter if it will take more time, I am just curious to know how it is going, and do not want to hurry you up in any way.

I think the gorilla has died.

I would love that Carl could have again this very artistic, awesome and amazing filter that gives very good results, and the only problem was the possible darkening and weird colors it could give sometimes.

Maybe I am one of the the responsible together with many others from others parts that Carl said, that helped to "kill" the gorilla as I was showing the problem it had with darkness and weird colors it could get, and do not imagined that he would remove it from the library and never be seen again.

Although later was solved in some way when there was a second version with a darkness slider, but even then was removed.

Well, I would not know in any way how to make a filter SIMILAR to this, and I do not know if Carl would allow to modify his own filter to be made again and be available again by another user, or may be modifying it and sending it to him so he can submit it.

I wanted to help and as there has not been any news from this filter or Carl since more than one year, I sent an email to Carl through FF to ask for his permission, but got no answer, so I uploaded the filter in this thread thinking that maybe he would allow it, and then I got an email from Carl that I must remove inmediately the filter as he would not allow to be this filter the forum, because he has his own reasons to have removed the filter, and these reasons are still there and valid today so is not possible to upload any version to the forum.
