I have seen that there is a better way to make the Droste Spiral Effect using a special Photoshop plugin made specifically for this kind of effects and that includes ALL the multiple possible combinations that this technique offers, and that it has MUCH more options available than the very good filter made by Egret in Filter Forge .
You will find it here and it is FREE to use and download from the Adobe Labs http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange...id=1700080 and this is the official web of the author --> http://www.subblue.com/projects/droste
Here I have this very good tutorial that explains very well how to use this Droste Spiral Effect plugin in Photoshop http://www.digital-photography-school...ste-effect Also there is a interesting video tutorial on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8D5e6bSW0g This are some examples of what can be done ---> http://blog.pokkisam.com/content/dros...-illusions Please see also this thread I have put ---> How to use FF to get DROSTE effects like this 32 nice ones shown here? Also you can use Filter Forge to make the images or transform the photos artistically and then after use these ones for the Droste spiral effect WHY THIS PLUGIN IS A BETTER WAY AND WITH MUCH MORE OPTIONS THAN THE FF FILTER? In this article of the author in his website you can see some samples of the different variations possible that are NOT available in the FF filter. Basic parameters Periodicity: Sets the number of times the image is repeated at each level of the spiral. For images such frames, leave this value to 1. For circular images will require minor adjustments to get a repeat spiral so pretty, but always worth it to try to use the value set to AutoPeriodicity. The strand value is the number of spiral arms. When set to greater than 1 and applied to an image like a flower that has a transparency on the outside, you must make strand Mirror for the image is as a continuous pattern seamless. Enable the antialiasing option to resample the image and soften fine details ![]() Basic parameters for the above images 0 strands (Droste classic), 1 strand, 2 strands, strand only with increased frequency. Advanced Settings LevelStart increases so that the image fills the outdoor area. Increases levels until the center of the spiral is complete. Changes to permit rotation rotate Polar polar. Unchecking the twist will unfurl a circular image. ![]() Advanced Settings of the above images unwind, allowing poles, allowing increased frequency poles and hiperdroste. |
