I'm not sure I want tiles to be the recipient of the destruction, but something that is thin and brittle makes the most sense. Is there some other material that fits?

Nice uberzev. You could almost make another one with this also. Put some hammer-head
marks and it could be smashed tiles. smile:D

Brialliant --I can see alot of texture makers liking this one
Is it a single color tile or do you have multiple colors and patterns

The only thing I would say is Looking at the grout it looks higher up in some areas then the actual tile you might try shading the grout height map a little darker to offset that

The lat thing I would say is If you could leave some chunks in the voids and actual fragments ""on top "" of the existent tile it would add to the realism

Again only reason I say this Is because I know you could pull it off otherwise I would keep my big mouth shut

Last but not least

P L E A S E release some of thees like the rock pile and this Boy would I ever love to disect them to see how you pulled off the rock pile
Your work Is fantastic

Nice depth, although not sure why the insulation or whatever behind the tile is gray like that, looks kinda scary ha-ha. smile:D Less gray area behind the cracks showing would be maybe more realistic. Something I had trouble doing with my mediocre thawing ice filter. Things rarely break, or chip off, like that though, at least from what I've seen in real life. Something to work on maybe, but the cracks look way nice anyways. smile:)

Hey Uberzev, at first glance, maybe make it grooved like it looks before the tiles are placed. Also, maybe dark holes with peices of plaster and wood around the edges like a demo hammer just went through it....

uber, why not release it? looks pretty damn good to me. normally, when you see this kind of texture, you dont see the depth around the cracks and stuff, so i find yours pretty impressive.

When I think of smashed-up delicateness, I think of porcelain.

Looks more convincing to me than what I've seen with some other plugins, e.g., Alien Skin's Shatter.

Nice work with grit!
I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures

Ok, since I never get around to finishing anything if someone wants to take what I've started here and run with it that would be great.

I like very much the crackles and destruction of the tiles, it looks very realistic.

I have made one with a color texture overlay, although it does not look the same well done as the white above and I must make that the texture is ONLY applied to the not broken tiles part and not to the whole image.

I only added a Blend mode component at the end and mixed the source with a grungy green texture I have and adjusted the opacity and used the hard light blend mode (I think, not exactly sure)

BUT this is not really the good way because ALL is green and the great destructive effect of uberzev is lost in my opinion.

I have modified the filter so it works like you wanted.
You can choose the color of the tiles, or an image for the tiles.

I will not upload the filter without Uberzev's permission, as it's HIS filter, I just added a couple of components.

Here's the lifesaver as an example:

Can I submit it to the library, or do you want it here?

Don't worry, you'll get 100% of the mony I make off this filter smile:D

Very well done. Thanks very much for doing this. I was going to think how to do it but as you have already done it and very well, I do not have to.

I have to say that what I have made above was a very quick test and knew that I should find a way to add the image source in another different place of the filter than at the end if I wanted to keep the destruction texture outside of the image source, because of course that at the end the effect is done over ALL the image on not just in parts.

Thanks to you again for making this and also of course thanks to uberzev that is the master and creator of this filter.

I have another possible idea, and is the feature, option and ability to change the well done grey cement wall behind the tiles for your own images, so it could be like the "tiles" that makes this side of the universe is breaking down and shows in the back another different universe or dimension

Right now you can control the color\image of the tiles, and the color of the cement (and how rough it is.
I made this filter with FF2.0, so there's no multi-image support.

I can upload a new version for FF3.0 which will allow for 2 different images. smile:)
