I am sorry that I was not impressed at all by the Flood filter, BUT I really like much the new image you have uploaded showing this beautiful and very well done BLOCKY !!

Love how they have different sizes and shapes and greatly colored.

Congratulations!!

lol the flood filter got dunked LOL.

It's just a recreation of the classic photoshop plugin available from Flaming Pear (called Flood, hence the name Flood.) It's almost a complete copy but not quite. Flaming Pear hopefully doesn't get upset. Probably won't, results are similar, and in one way it's totally different. But anyway. smile:)

Blocky! needs work.

Generate some Crystals. Uses same method as the Blocky filter. Uberzev and Orteil gets thanks for the awesomeness.

WOW!! Great, beautiful, and very well done 3D like texture you have done !! smile:)

All this texture is ONLY made in FF ??? smile:eek: smile:eek:

Because the looks of great 3D shapes and varied sizes could mean that is something else could be needed.

And also great how is rendered as a ball

Those last two look really cool, but there are a couple of problems:
1) There are a few places with a bit of a tangle, were the glass parts are too small.
2) The glass is too thick and\or bevel too wide. Easy to fix I suppose smile:)

Flat stones like stained glass ? smile:?:

Good idea, but I do not like much this examples, perhaps with others it could be seen better.

lol You'll never find out SpaceRay. I donno, I've been lately making filters for specific needs. Sometimes just in the process of building I get weird stuff like that. It's the LAB spaceray. Not everything will look great or work in your favor.

Now I dare you to also make that thing.

I have not any intention or want to discover how you have done this and surely that I will never find out because I am not any kins of expert in Filter Forge.

As said I can´t do it, but I do not want to do it, if the result is what you have shown that I do not like, and I am sorry that I say it and you feel bad if I do not like it. I admire your FF skills and is great all the things you can do.

Of course that not everything will be perfect, beautiful and look great, and all is a subjetive matter and it depends of the person that looks at it, perhaps something that you like much and find beautiful another person can think is awful and do not like it at all, and what is important is what you like and not the other person.

I do not want or wish that all that you make will be things I like of course, did I say that?

I already know that what you show in this thread IS NOT always filters that you are going to upload to the library and many are for your own use and your business and not to be shared but I have the right to say if I like it or not.

It was honestly a mild surprise. I kicked a couple parameters around and suddenly it worked. I basically hit the right numbers by accident.

Skybase, you have been looking to make a Flood like filter, and I have just seen that ThreeDee has already made something perhaps similar to this

Sweet, nice classic find! smile:)

The version I made is close-reproduction of the classic "Flood" filter by flaming pear. The filter in fact is VERY similar with additional features that the original "Flood" doesn't have. (Caustics, refraction, and a little bit more control over what gets flooded on.) The entire functionality of the filter is created using the latest version of FilterForge, also it renders really really really fast. smile;)

Replaced a portion of my stained glass gen thingy with Uber's way of passing channels through the bomber. Results in custom shapes but is way too slow for proper usage.

Looks really cool, but still has a minor annoying thing about it - some of the glass tiles have a common texture among them. It looks unnatural.
Take a look for example at the top right portion, where there's a green tile and a gray tile with common texture.

Other than that, cool texture, cool colors, very good overall.

My first ever filter in FilterForge returns! Completely updated and it's ridiculously fast. Gradual-blur part inspired by Betis... but I'm doing it the super lazy way.

what's your "super lazy way" do, half as many samples or something? smile:D

Also (and I just thought of this, haven't tried it yet) what if you did a median filter over or in place of the gaussian blur, I wonder if it would start to look like focal blur smile8)
Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF

I was going for half the number of samples for gradual blur and so I did that and it works. And then I was thinking to myself if I can just come up with some lazier way of doing all that with less nodes and speed increases.... so I came up with awful. (Insert tons of lols)

I mean in many ways the blur looks god awful when gaussian is turned off, but it works when gaussian blur is enabled and it surprisingly does a decent job. I should say as much as quality is concerned it's probably not the best way, but for speed... oh boy!

I actually do want to see how it would look with median. I think it'll become even more painterly.

So I've been working on my game-project (code named The Tower) for a while and I thought I'd just upload an update on it.

The basic element was developed in FilterForge and processed using Photoshop. (So the bokeh effect is all Photoshop.)

This will be one of the overlay textures I guess.... Will have scenery in it too.
