Carl ... I also like this filter a lot ... It is right up my ally .... Question??? The shot after the trees ... Is that folks standing on a grate? I find it very interesting (and I mean that in a very good way) ..... Here is my example ... I call "Out of the Pumpkin Patch .......

Thanks Morgantao, with the right pic and combination of controls, anyone with a good eye can make something creative and unique smile:)

Mardar we have talk about getting rid of your husband smile:love:

Gene love your pumpkin and fantastic that both you and Ghislaine took the filter in your own directions and explored possibilities that hadn't/wouldn't have crossed my mind smile8)

Gene I hope the attached clears up your question

WOW!! Beautiful examples you have put here !! Congratulations.

This a great and awesome, beautiful, wonderful and very artistic filter and well done so it deserves to win one of my own SA Awards

I think that this filter ALSO deserves an EP from FF Inc.

With the high level of the examples above I have to make one that shows really the excellence of this filter, and here it is below.

Great and original name to a great filter

How do you thought about giving this name to this filter ??? smile:?:

Have you been romancing the gorilla at the zoo or what ? smile:D smile:D

And here is the right part in more detail to see more of the really beautiful artistic strokes and effects this filter makes with a simple photo that has mostly plain colors and this filter injects a great explosion of life inside it.

Gene, your pumpkin image is amazing!
It really looks like something that belongs in an art gallery.

And SpaceRay, that is so cool! Very nice example of how a cityscape can become art.

I have to asy, this filter keeps on delivering smile:)

Carl, when I read that, I laughed so hard I almost hurt myself. smile:D You have given me two good laughs in as many days. Keep it up my friend. smile:love:

Here are my tries at using this great filter.

A simple 2D tile made with my Scrap Heart filter

Flowers

And a photo of some oriental buildings.

This filter can be used for lots of different photos and graphics. Great job Carl. smile:love:

Gene love that pumpkin pic. smile;)

Carl ... the deck scene surprised me. It impresses me even more what the filtered exampled looked like. The example looked so SyFy to me like folks standing on a grate over the infinit hole through the center of the earth, but I knew Captain Jack never wears sandals. (Sorry for the obscure reference to BBC America)

Mardar I like much your photo of the oriental buildings

Here I have two more examples, and like much how this filter transforms a dull plain color into a artistic texture, as here the background is totally black or white, and in the examples you can see that is with many brush strokes in different shades, although the black keeps being black as there could be probably more shades inside but can´t see them smile;)

Great city render SpaceRay and I particularly like your chinese pic Mardar smile:)

It has a bit of a time warpy thingy happening Gene, if it's the captain jack [ I like it both ways smile;) ] that I think your refering to, than there is no good on the other side of the time warpy thingy smile:D

SpaceRay the name came from the thought, that the filter can generate soft smooth cuddly "Romantic" results and all the way to the other extreme of rough messy scrawly paint work much like I imagine a Gorrilla would paint, I didn't say it was a sane thought smile;) smile:)

SpaceRay I thought it was a great idea smile8) having a border and I have upd ate the filter with border options [ refresh to see new default ], [ credit given smile;) ] more style options and also a range of 12 toning options that have a better range of dark and light, which replace the single choice of pastel toning [ pastel se tting is still included ] which will stop any over dark results.

Thanks Craig, hope you take the filter out for a test drive smile:)

Can't leave without another example, with the Spaceray border option

Thanks for the update. I have seen that the new border option gives MORE than a border, because if you turn on the border appears MORE TEXTURES generated by the filter inside the main image

So it would even be useful to activate the border although you are not going to use it, you could crop out it after.

Here I show what I am talking about with two examples.

This below is the original photo that has a plain white background.

And here is the SAME photo as above with the border activated in the settings, and as you can see there are more textures added to the white background, which for me is a good and interesting thing.

You can cutout the border if you do not like it and leave the effects added to the background.

And the border ALSO can help to make a better composition and make it nearly invisible if you use shader value 0 and border 5.

Here is a photo without any border added

And here is the same as above and the only thing that was changed is activating the border with shader value 0 and border 5

For me this version looks MUCH better than the one above and really you do not see that there is a clear and defined border and the composition gains much this way, as the photo is contained in itself and the end of the shapes are more integrated in the photo and are not roughly and straight cut at the end as in the original above.

I STILL FIND TOO DARK COLORS ON SOME PHOTOS

There is still no way to control the brightness or the white point to lighten the results if it is too dark.

I am sorry to say that I still find than on some images I have tried it STILL gives dark and unwanted colors transformations that could be solved easily if there was available a brightness or levels controls.

The Style or Toning Choice does not help to make them brighter KEEPING the same textures and effects.
