The glass cubes and the reflections are impressive! You've made the cubes seem so real, so three-dimensional! I've been making filters with filter forge for over three years now, and I am all but baffled as to how you've done this.

WOW!! this is is super awesome, creative, amazing impressive and original filter!!!! Same as said by Erik "Definitely one of my new favorites. I love it!" This really leaves me breathless. And after making some tests with different prests and settings I had tears of joy and emotion after seeing the beautiful and nice results I was looking at.
All the effects you have created with the cubes and different textures and shades are excellent and gives lots of possible combinations and the gold looking and lighting, and all is fantastic. 10.000 thanks for this filter ![]() Here I will put some of the examples I have done: This is a jungle photo where I have reduced the size pixels setting to 400. This is not really seen very well because is low resolution and the Jpeg degrades the image quality (must be under 250k) ![]() |

And this is the same as above in a center zone close up in greater detail showing the lovely different colors tones captured and created by your awesome filter. The real high resolution looks even much better and bigger size as this is very reduced.
Sorry for the slightly bad quality, but as said is because the 250k limit of the forum, as in the real one it looks really beautiful and perfect with so many shades and lovely tones. ![]() |

And what happens if you reduce the size pixel setting of the filter to only 190 ???
Well, you get a much higher detail of the original base photo and even much more beautifully colored tones and shades in thousands of cubes. Here looks very bad, but the real size one I have is perfect and very sharp and lovely details of all the cubes and shades. ![]() |

And this is the same as above multicolor cubes in the real size showing the lovely colors captured by your awesome filter.
Love very much the different kind of blocks, golden metallic blocks with reflections, glass blocks, semitransparent, solid blocks, textured blocks, and different shades and shading, and the possible reflections and effects that can be added. And also how the shadows are made and affect different cubes depending of their position and the surrounding cubes heights and sides. I do not have enough words to describe how beautiful, excellent and well done thisfilter has been made. Thanks a million inujima for this real gem of filter and for having such a great idea and expert skill in FF for making this. ![]() |

I have another example made with a rectangle white mask over a multicolor texture and love the way it makes to cut the mask from the original in a very good way.
I have used the first default preset and changed only the size pixels setting to 700 instead of 3000 that is the default, so I get thousands more cubes and much more detail. ![]() |

SUGGESTION OF MASKING AND ALLOWING ALPHA CHANNEL
I have tried fr om the two frames above to make also another example with a plain black center but I have tried to make an image with transparent center so that it could be like an alpha channel that this filter is not made to accept any kind of alpha channel and it converts any transparency to solid black I would like to suggest if it would be possible to make an update with a feature of allowing to have alpha channel and make it as a mask wh ere the cubes are filled in and that they do not get cut straight in the same way as the example shown here below. For this one below I have made it in Photoshop the frame and then made a selection of ONLY the size of the frame I wanted to have and so FF filled this selection with cubes, BUT as you can they are very sharply cut, and if you use a feather selection it looks bad. ![]() |

I have this examples of what is my suggestion so it can be understood much better and see how it should look if this was possible to make in this filter.
As shown above using a selection makes a very sharp cut on all the cubes, and my suggestion is to bel able to keep whole cubes in the borders of the selection, and this can be done only if the filter allows to have alpha masks and knows how to fill that mask so the result could be the one shown here below ![]() |

This one above of the frame is jus one example, but having the alpha channel allowed and workin inside the filter could allow to load any mask shape and make lots of different possible designs and also if you invert the mask.
I could try to make it myself, but as this is an official published filter in the library, I want to keep the rewards to the author and use it if possible so you get the usage rank reward that you deserve for making this filter, and this would be lost if I made it. For more information and more examples of what I am suggesting and from where I have had this idea comes from this other thread and how to able to do this that I have shown above is in this thread here A way to make a Q*Bert style with 3 color cubes and with missing cubes |

I think it is interesting suggestion, but I don't plan to update this filter now.
If you have made a good customized filter, please upload it to this thread. However, I tell you it is not easy that implementing an alpha masking without your understanding of construction of this filter. |

Thanks for your answer, and I want to say that this is only a possible suggestion, so if you do not plan to make it, nothing bad happens at all, it totally up to you.
Well I have tried to investigate your filter and how it works more deeply to see if there could be a way to do my suggestion, but will be much difficult and complex than it seems as there is many things involved
Absolutely true and and you are right that it will not be easy to do it. Perhaps the best and fastest way for now is to cut the unwanted cubes using a photoshop selection as I have done already above. You can "mark" the unwanted cubes with a special color (using the source image colors) so you can now which ones are. Thanks |
