If you dont mind I might borrow your method for the radial spokes for my fan blades the method Im trying to impliment is kind of lame an dthis would allow me to have more presets of different blade quantities-- that and those darn scoop shaped fan blades are giving me a headache

Sure, go ahead. Until we get radial gradients as components this thing will only work because of uberzev's snippet, so it's kind of a marriage of several techniques floating around the community anyways.

Great filter!
One tip tho: to make the top of the teeth thiner than then base, here is a dirty solution: ![]() The blend is lighten. It might be necessary to apply it twice to make the effect stronger. |

I am adding concave, linear and convex tapered teeth. Below you can see the concave tapering in effect, visible in the reflections and speculars.

Thank you so much! My customers in Second Life will very much appreciate these.
We already have a few artists at my store using FF selling their work in SL ![]() Your a genius as I couldnt possibly get my head around the advanced version of FF, took me 3 yrs to consider myself intermediate at Photoshop! Pixel Perfectionist |

Update incoming:
- Complete overhaul: The filter now supports seamless tiling with the 'Size, pixels' slider! - As a side-benefit to the overhaul, this new version also renders faster. - Added a 'Tweak Mode' for fast interactive feedback. The overhaul changes the filters' architecture from Frame-based to Tiles-based in order to fully support the 'Size, pixels' funtionality. For archival purposes and nostalgical reasons, I'm attaching the old 'vintage' version. ![]() ![]() The Old Clockwork Factory.ffxml --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

In the future, I'll focus on getting the heightmap to work without the blur at the end. The small radius that is necessary for the bevel to look good is rather problematic, as is evident in the small step artifacts on the heightmap.

You should really add a filterforge generated metal as a switch instead of the picture. I'm surprisingly lazy and I'm sure others besides myself wouldn't be bothered to find a decent metal texture just to feed this beauty.

Am so going to take a peak and see how you made this.. made a load of gears in paint shop pro a few months back so was thinking earlier about figuring out how to implement a system to make them with the filter. Less time consuming than doing them one by one building up the 3d effects, textures etc..
![]() Nothing wrong with a little insanity ;)
