When looking at the categories that are found in the Filter Forge Online Library there is one snippet category in the TEXTURES filters, and another snippet for the EFFECTS filters.

WHY there is not just one snippet category ?

I mean what is different from the two snippets categories?
Does it mean that the snippets from the Texture filters are only for creating filters for this category ?
And the same from the snippets in Effects filters.

Would be not good thing or be bad in some way to use the snippets from Texture filters to make Effects filters ?

I am asking this because as far as I know ANY snippet could be used for ANY filter that you make, BUT not ALWAYS this could be the best and efficient way to do it, although it could work, there could be a better alternative.

I am sorry if all this seems to be silly question and is based on my ignorance about how it works FF filter editor and snippets

The current filter library design forces us to put any filter containing an Image or a Selection in to the Effects category. AFAIK this is the only difference between these categories.

Thanks for the answer.

Now I understand it better and know why there are two, and so it means that NONE of the snippets in the Texture Filters category have any kind of Image component or selection and is totally FF generated without any outside source.

This is very good to know, interesting and useful when thinking of making snippets.
