I have 3 Multiblend components and want to "pipe" them through together to make only one result, I do not want to blend or mix them, as is not needed, it should be the result pure at 100% opacity from any of the 3.

I am making a filter that have 19 possible results, so for mixing the results and get them in the way I want is needed to use Multiblend because you can control the opacity of the output result, so I have used 3 Multiblend, BUT the problem comes when I have to join and mix all three into just one result.

I have already tried to use another multiblend to mix those 3 multiblend and it does not work, because it seems that you can´t use opacity 100 on all of them, and also have tried to use Blend components, but it does not work either.

I do NOT want to mix them, as it will ONLY be just ONE result from the 19 possible (although always showing the first one if the other 19 are not showing)

I have thought to use the IF component, but do not know how to do it

Thanks very much for any help

Here is the filter explained

I have already asked something similar sometime ago in this other thread

Is there a way to MIX two component sources WITHOUT BLEND mode?

Quote
Mongoose King wrote on this thread above

What if you combined multiple blends, lets call your 2 sources A and B.

So first you blend with 100% opacity A on top of B
and the same with B on top of A
then you blend those two reults with 50% opacity on the top layer.

I have tried it and it does not work, the final result is lighter.

Here is the filter for FF 3.0 if you want to see it yourself and can be so kind to help

Thanks very much

This filter is for making an alternative solution for this thread here

How to show the blend modes without having a dropdown control option ?

Hi, did you look at Arial TD font Snippet by ThreeDee?
It has an easy map-script instead of the multiblend, maybe that's the way to go.

Here is a simple solution using thresholds and an if.

C -> B -> A
That is..
Connect C out to B - Layer 1 (bottom layer, opacity 100%)
Connect B out to A - Layer 1 (bottom layer, opacity 100%)

If you need more channels just add another multiblend and connect to C etc..

PRIZE TO SPHINX
- Winner in this thread smile:) He solved the problem in the easiest way

Thanks very much, Sphinx your suggestion and solution is the best one and works very well and perfect for what I wanted to do and how I have built the filter.

See below attached the solution

I will upload the filter corrected tomorrow

Thanks Xirja for your multiblend filter, it looks very good and interesting, and is a cool way to mix 3 source images, although it depends on a slider and should be automatically activated without manual interaction.

I agree that maybe it would be better to use IF and threshold, and is also a good thing and way to do it.

I give you the second prize for your alternative filter and suggestion

Thanks. Well, I have seen now it, but this does not work automatically, and depends totally on the slider, so it really is like a megaswitch with 28 slots, and also the result from the map script is grayscale and not in color, I know that maybe what you mean is to modify it for my filter, but I regretably do not know how to make or modify a script.

Ugh... multiple slots, numerous numbers of opacity controls... tedious if alternations are required, simple yet cumbersome. [Edit: making it positive] Bet there's a really really cool way of doing this.

Multiple slots = number of blend modes available = 19

You do not have to put ALL of the slots and blend modes, as you can choose the ones you want to put, and as few or many of them as you want.

numerous numbers of opacity controls

Well there as I see it there is only 2 opacity values 0 and 100 to control if the result is shown or not, because I have not been able to thought a better way to do it.

Well, for me is very easy, you only have to UNLINK the blend modes that you do not want and that is all, unless you want to have it clean and delete all the unwanted blend modes so they are not shown.

Well, I have not said that this I have done is the best way to do it, and possibly and most surely that there could be better and cool ways to do it, so this could be a challenge for you (or any other forum member) and would be good to know about it.

Nobody in 5 years have done it yet, so I wanted to do it myself

I have uploaded the final and working filter snippet in this thread here

Snippet - Be able to use NAMES for blending modes AND also ....

And also explain WHY I have done it and the reasons that moved me to do it

I am trying now to use my own snippet with my filters, and I think I understand what you mean now, as you have to connect the two source images that are going to be blended one by one to each of the 19 blend components, and I was wrong when I told you above that you only have to unlink the blend modes that you do not want, as I was making reference at when the snippet is already built inside your own filter, and I missed the part that you HAVE TO PUT the snippet inside the filter FIRST, and I agree that it could be tedious and is cumbersome to attach 19 times for each one of the blend components and for each of the 2 source images, but I have also seen that is not so difficult or time consuming.
